Ingredients
  • Beef - 1kg
  • Tomato - 150g
  • Onion - 100g
  • Garlic cloves - 5 or 6
  • Ginger root - Small (About the size of a large garlic clove)
  • Curry Leaves - Few
  • Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Curry powder - 3 tablespoons
  • Thick coconut milk - 150ml
  • Water - 250ml
  • Salt - As you need (KETO people use the Himalayan Pink Salt)
  • Cooking oil - As you need (KETO people use the Organic Coconut Oil)
Instructions
  1. Rinse and cut the beef. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix and marinate for 15 to 30 minutes.
  2. Slice the onion and prepare ginger garlic paste. Besides, get ready with curry powder, curry leaves, and cooking oil.
  3. Also, cut the tomatoes.
  4. Prepare coconut milk and take the water.
  5. Heat the oil in a wok and add the onion. Sauté them till turn softened and translucent. Then add ginger garlic paste and curry leaves. Saute them until onion starts turn to golden.
  6. Now, add the marinated beef and give a good mix.
  7. Cook covered under the high flame until all the liquid evaporates. For me, it takes about 15 minutes. In a halfway through take off the lid and give a good stir.
  8. Now cook uncovered under medium flame until the beef pieces get bit fried. Stir occasionally to avoid burning. For me, it takes about 5 minutes.
  9. Add tomato, curry powder, and water. Give a good mix.
  10. Cook covered under high flame for 3 minutes. Then add coconut milk and give a mix. Also, taste the gravy and adjust salt if needed.
  11. Cook covered under low flame for 7 minutes.
  12. This is how to make a spicy beef curry recipe with coconut milk, tomato, and curry powder. Serve and enjoy this Sri Lankan style delicious beef curry.
Notes
For an extra taste, I recommend you buy the beef with some fat.
If you don't like more spiciness reduce the amount of curry powder.
I instantly made coconut milk. If it is hard, use coconut milk powder or bottled coconut milk.
I instantly made ginger garlic paste. If it is hard, use the bottled one.
Actually, you can prepare this dish without adding the coconut milk. In this case, you may need to add a little more water.
